How to Enable Disable Chat in Zoom

HOW TO ENABLE CHAT IN ZOOM

Zoom is a great app for online video conference calls. It really gives you diverse ideas and you can collaborate and use many useful tools for your productive office meeting, online tuition, or education-based class.

Step 1: Open Zoom Chat Settings

First, locate the Zoom application and open it on your computer or mobile device. Once opened, log in to your Zoom account and join or start a meeting. At the bottom of the screen, you will find the meeting controls panel.

Step 2: Access Meeting Settings

To disable the chat feature, click on the "More" button, indicated by three dots in a horizontal line, located on the right corner of the meeting controls panel. A drop-down menu will appear, displaying a list of additional meeting settings.

Step 3: Disable Chat

In the meeting settings drop-down menu, find and click on the "Chat" option. This will open the chat settings for your current meeting. In the chat settings, deselect the checkbox that says "Allow participants to chat with everyone." By unchecking this box, participants will no longer be able to send messages in the public chat.

Step 4: Restrict Chat to Host Only (optional)

Moreover, if you wish to restrict the chat feature entirely, you can check the box that says "Only host." This setting will disable chat for all participants, except for the host. This option can be useful in scenarios where you don't need any chat interaction.

Step 5: Save Settings and Continue Meeting

Once you have configured the chat settings according to your preferences, click on the "Save" button to save the changes. The settings will be applied instantly to the ongoing meeting, providing you a chat-free environment. Now you can continue your Zoom meeting without distractions.

Conclusion:

And that's it! You have successfully disabled the chat feature in Zoom. Whether you want to eliminate distractions, maintain a focused meeting, or prevent unwanted messages, disabling the chat can greatly enhance your video conferencing experience. Remember, you can always enable the chat feature by following the same steps if you need it in future meetings. Thank you for watching, and we hope this tutorial was helpful. Happy Zooming!
