 First add the digits of the two numbers together and then put this sum between the given original two digits number.

For example, to rapidly find the answer to 11 x 21, do the following steps

Case 1:

1. We have number 21 to be multiplied by 11 so first add 2+1=3. 

2. Put this sum (3) in between the original number 21 so it becomes 231. So, 231 is the required answer.

Case 2:

If the sum of the two digits is greater than 9, carry the 1 over to the tens digit. So, for a problem like 11 x 86, start by adding the two digits of the number 86 together to get 8+6=14.
